Mountain Range Photography For Beginners.

-How to photograph mountains-

1–2 minutes

You took a trip and wanted to capture the cozy essence of the mountains, but you don’t know were to start. Well in this blog I am going to cover the three main ways to pass your vacation off as cozy!

#1-Take advantage of the lighting. When photographing the mountains, the golden hour just after sunrise and before sunset can dramatically enhance the colors and textures of the landscape.

Another thing to consider is running water; rivers give the picture a glittering enhancement and a reflective aspect. Also consider the cloud cover, clouds can add more excitement and contrast to your image.

#2- Utilize angles and perspectives. Experimenting with angles and perspectives can bring about an image that makes you go WOW. I know maybe you want to play it safe, and stick to what you know but what’s the worst that could happen?

Here are the settings I took this portrait at! The fire gives the picture a cozy feel, and makes for some major color contrast, and the angle allows me to capture the essence of a cozy mountain vacation!

#3 -Carry your camera with you!
During my stay in the mountains, I learned to expect the unexpected, so I always carried a camera. However, cameras can be bulky and hard to manage. Here are some surprises I encountered with my iPhone camera and my Canon camera!
