– 5 Easy Ideas-
-Tips and Tricks-
If your new at photography and reading this, congrats! You have taken the first step in capturing moments that will last forever! Have you ever wanted to take cute wall worthy pictures of little kids, but don’t know what pose would be easiest and least amount of work? Well here are some tips for you! When I did my first photoshoot with smaller kids, I was stressed, and in my head I needed the “perfect picture”. But kids run a million miles a minute and can barley stand still … so I had to get creative. So let’s dive in to the 5 easy ideas for little kid photoshoots.

-The 5 Easy Ideas –
#1- The Hug. Number one is what I like to call the hug. If you take a look at the picture at the top of the page, and the one below. The subject has their arm around the other one creating a cute framable picture that took me all of two seconds to take!

#2- Run A Marathon– This next one is simple… tell them to run. Kids (especially little kids) have a boundless amount of energy and love all things active. So this works great because it’s an easy task for them to complete, and they usually have fun doing it; so there is an automatic smile on their face! Take a look at the picture below. One tip for this pose is to bump your shutter speed up a little bit because of how fast they are moving. #3 –Let Them play– Kids love to play, and most likely are disapointed that they have to take pictures instead of playing with their toys. So why not get the best of both worlds? Let them play and have fun while you are in the back round snapping pictures their parents will love! Letting them play also brings some authenticity to the picture that having them stand still and smile dosen’t.

#4 –Outdoor Activites– Again keeping them active and not sitting around is the way to go. Their attention span is not long as so you have to move form one activity to the next. Swings (or a zipline) are a great activity because they are fun for the kids, but also look really cute on the wall! Usually this activity makes them smile too. This could also be a great ice breaker if the kids are shy.

#5- Hands On an Object– This a really easy way to create a pose in whatever enviroment you are in. Whether it’s hands on a railing, ladder, tree, your hips. They all look cute and will turn out great!

-Don’t be stressed-
When photography little kids the worst thing you can do is stress out. Take a deep breath, and remember that you don’t need the “perfect picture” because the perfect picture is not always staged as I learned. It’s in the busyness of it all that you find the diamond in the rough.
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box!
Wherever you are. wherever you go. You can find beauty in God's creation.
