Are you struggling to figure out what to do for family photos? Are you wondering how to pose people easily without making it difficult? Well here are the 6 go to family poses so your Christmas card does not disapoint!

#1-Walk and Talk
Easy enough right? Have them all hold hands and start walking! Note– Remember to ask them to walk slow, and look at each other and smile/ or laugh. You can choose to capture this from the back or the front.

#2-Adults in the back little kids in the front.
If you have a big family, this works great! Parents can place their hands on their kids’ shoulders, and the kids can hug each other. The husband can put his arm around his wife, with the kids in front. There are many options! Gathering everyone for a family photo like this captures not just the people, but also togetherness, creating a cherished memory that shows the bond among family members.

#3- Sit and Play
This approach works great for little kids. This allows for you to capture the playful side of the kids and family. Have the parents sit in the back, and then set the kids in front and have the parents play with them. Note– make sure you have your shutter speed up!

#4-Hug or hold hands.
This can be used in lots of different senarios. You can use it for couples photo shoots, sibling portraits, or best friends! You could play with side hugs, or have them back to back and hold hands! You could do big group hugs, or have them all hold hands and walk!

#5- Jump!
This can work really well for little kids, and preteens. All you have to do is ask your clients to jump in the air! I also had some of my clients do a simple dance turn and that was super cute as well!

#6-Look over the shoulder.
This is great for single person portraits, prom pictures, or senior pictures and one of my favorite ways to pose people!
